Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: Wooster had options in sports I wanted to compete in and majors I might want to pursue. Wooster was the only college I had an overnight visit at. The overnight visit solidified my choice due to the friendliness of the entire campus.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot means I am going to give it my all and pursue my academics.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: Having the leeway of a Div. III student-athlete to focus on your studies, while at the same time, being able to push yourself in the sport you love.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I have been a student assistant athletic trainer for all four years of undergrad. Helping athletes has been a joy of mine. I have also been a part of Beta Kappa Phi all four years as well.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Shelley Judge because of the way Dr. Judge is able to teach and adapt the teaching style if someone needs extra assistance with material they are caught up on.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Beta Kappa Phi has taught me to better understand how to schedule time to be successful at Wooster.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am studying the mineral olivine to better understand glaciovolcanism at a ridge in Iceland. This study will allow me to learn how volcanoes interact with glaciers and how the ridges develop over time.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I got to work under Dr. Meagen Pollock in a paid research position in the x-ray lab. This research position gave me significant experience with x-ray fluorescence.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: No matter how empty your social battery may be, making more connections early on is massively essential.
