Senior Salute - Will Callender

Our "Senior Salute" series continues with Will Callender from the cross country and track and field team. Callender is a psychology major from Seattle, Washington.
Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I chose Wooster because of the opportunities it provides from an educational standpoint, with athletics, and the community.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: It means having access to a community of people who support me and push me to be the best version of myself
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: My favorite memories are filling Kauke Arch with snow as a first-year, having team success during track and field and cross country, and celebrating I.S. Monday with my friends who were older than me.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part is everyone is respected and pushed to grow in all facets of their life.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am in the Wooster Symphony Orchestra.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: Dr. Bryan Karazsia because he helped me shape my Independent Study topic and pushed my knowledge of aspects of psychology.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach Dennis Rice has been a supportive person for me through the ups and downs of college.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am examining the impact ADHD has on locus of control and academic self-efficacy.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I was able to do an APEX fellowship for an internship the summer after my sophomore year.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: There is no need to have it all figured out right away. Things like this take time to figure out.
