WOOSTER, Ohio – A combination of poor shooting and turnovers did The College of Wooster in Sunday, as Case Western Reserve University stormed to an 81-49 victory in non-conference action at Timken Gymnasium.

The Scots (1-9) dug themselves a hole early by committing 18 turnovers before the break, and the Spartans (4-4) steadily pulled away with baskets on the other end. Most impressive was Case Western Reserve's ball movement on offense, as it recorded an assist on 25-of-27 field goals on the day.

One highlight for Wooster was its second half effort, which included a much more productive offense and just a six-point (43-37) scoring disadvantage. Kristen Schwartz scored 10 of her team-high 16 points during the period, to go along with seven rebounds and a blocked shot on the stat sheet.

Also noteworthy, Suvi Puripattarapan chipped in eight points, all in the second half, marking her sixth-consecutive game with at least eight tallies.

Erin Hollinger and Erica Iafelice led the Spartans with 17 points each, while Sarah Milligan added 14 points off the bench.

Next up, Wooster hosts Defiance College (3-7) Dec. 30 at 6 p.m.
