The College of Wooster women's basketball team was held to just 3-for-21 shooting during the game's final 20 minutes, prompting Kenyon College to runaway with an 85-40 win in a North Coast Athletic Conference tilt Wednesday evening at Gambier, Ohio.

The Scots (2-12, 0-4 NCAC) hung around early in the first half, as Suvi Puripattarapan, Keshia Butler, Jessica Wingen, and Kristen Schwartz all chipped in on Wooster's 7-6 lead.

Following a small Kenyon (9-6, 3-1 NCAC) scoring run, Taylor Keegan hit a 3-pointer to bring Wooster back within two (14-12).

Over the next 3:14, Kenyon scored 11 unanswered points to take a 25-12 lead, which Wooster was never able to recover from.

Wooster did shoot 50 percent (9-for-18) from the field during the first half, but struggled with turnovers, allowing Kenyon to cash in on easy baskets. On the day, the Ladies scored 28 points off of turnovers, compared to just eight for Wooster.

Wingen led Wooster statistically with 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting, to go along with five rebounds and two blocked shots. Samantha Sulzer was efficient off the bench, chipping in 10 tallies and four boards in 22 minutes.

For Kenyon, Kayla Ernst turned in a game-high 18 points, while Morgan Korinek recorded matching seven's in points and rebounds.

Coming up next, Wooster will visit Denison University to face an undefeated and nationally ranked Big Red squad Saturday at 1 p.m.
