WOOSTER, Ohio – Karley Walker scored a team-high 15 points, and The College of Wooster women's basketball team as a whole shot exceptionally well from behind the arc, but Kenyon College held off the Fighting Scots for a 66-54 victory Saturday afternoon in North Coast Athletic Conference action at Timken Gymnasium.

The Scots (2-16, 0-8 NCAC) were dialed in from 3-point range in the early goings, as four of their first five baskets were triples, including Keshia Butler's first of the year which pulled Wooster within 18-14. On Wooster's next possession, Taylor Keegan knocked down a jumper on an assist from Kristen Schwartz to cut the deficit to two (18-16), but then Kenyon (11-8, 5-3 NCAC) began to pull away.

During a six-minute stretch late in the first half, the Ladies put together a 15-2 scoring run to take a 33-18 lead with 3:20 remaining before the break. Suvi Puripattarapan gave Wooster some help by knocking down a pair of 3-pointers, but Kenyon answered back and led 40-24 at half time.

Wooster trailed by double-digits for much of the second half, until a Samantha Sulzer basket drew Wooster within nine (49-40). With 5:19 left in regulation, Walker connected on a difficult off balance shot to bring Wooster within eight (54-46), which was as close as the Scots got to catching Kenyon.

Overall, Wooster was 10-for-18 (55.6 percent) from 3-point land. Walker, Keegan, and Puripattarapan scored 15, 11, and 10 points, respectively, and each hit three shots from downtown.

Jessica Wingen grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, and chipped in six points offensively.

Leading all scorers was Kenyon's Kayla Ernst with 21 points, while her teammate Kat Powers added 13.

The Scots will look to snap their six-game losing skid with a win at Hiram College (11-7, 3-4 NCAC) Wednesday at 6 p.m.
