Taylor Keegan and Karley Walker combined to score 25 points on over 50 percent shooting, but The College of Wooster shot poorly as a whole and struggled with turnovers, allowing archrival Wittenberg University to build a large lead and run away with a 79-50 victory in North Coast Athletic Conference action at Springfield, Ohio.

The Scots (3-19, 1-11 NCAC) hung around early, trailing by two at 8-6, and 10-8, but the Tigers (11-12, 6-6 NCAC) used a 12-2 run to take a double-digit lead (22-10) that it held onto for the majority of the afternoon. Trailing by as much as 17 in the first half, Keegan drained a 3-pointer heading into the break that pulled Wooster within 14 (36-22) at halftime.

Keegan and Walker scored nine of the Scots' first 11 points to start the second half, keeping them in striking distance (48-33), but a 10-0 Wittenberg run that immediately followed created too much separation for Wooster to come back from.

For the second-consecutive game the Scots shot over 90 percent from the free throw line, this time going 11-for-12 (91.7 percent). Wooster is a combined 31-for-33 (93.9 percent) in its last two outings.

Keegan led Wooster with 14 points, and Walker added 11. Kristen Schwartz recorded nine points and four rebounds, and Jessica Wingen pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

Wittenberg was paced by Katherine Hueter's double-double of 19 tallies and 10 boards. Jaclyn Willoughby matched Hueter's 19 points, and piled on seven assists and six rebounds as well.

Wooster was just 3-for-15 from behind the arc, all coming on makes from Keegan and Walker, and more than doubled Wittenberg's turnovers (27-13).

Next up, Wooster hosts Allegheny College (14-8, 8-4 NCAC) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
