Denison University used scoring runs of 11-0 and 8-0 to build a large cushion against The College of Wooster, and then went on to a 74-46 victory over the Fighting Scots in a North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball match-up Tuesday evening at Granville, Ohio.

Jessica Wingen recorded 19 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots, and Maura Hall scored 10 points and added six boards, but Denison responded by shooting 50.8 percent from the field (31-of-61).

Wooster made it a one-possession game (14-11) midway through the first half when an Ashley Lindemann steal led to a Suvi Puripattarapan layup. It was at that juncture Denison went on its 11-0 scoring run to pull ahead 25-11. The Scots never were able to cut the deficit to singles digits again, as the Big Red steadily pulled away throughout the second half.

Puripattarapan was next in line statistically with seven points and three rebounds, while Danielle Spinden and Sarah Abboud each chipped in four tallies on the offensive end.

Denison was led by Jane Windler (14 points, 5 rebounds), and Lydia Harlan was also a key contributor with 10 points and five assists.

The Scots will look to snap a three-game losing streak with a win over Oberlin College on the road Friday at 7:30 p.m.
