Following a back-and-forth first half which saw The College of Wooster build a six-point lead, Ohio Wesleyan University took control down the stretch and dealt the Scots a 65-51 setback Wednesday evening in a North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball match-up at Delaware, Ohio.

Tied at 10-10, the Bishops went on a mini-run to take a 19-12 lead, but the Scots answered back in a big way. Ashley Lindemann dropped in a lay-up, and Karley Walker and Danielle Spinden each made jumpers to pull Wooster within one (19-18). The next two Wooster possessions resulted in six more points, as Walker buried back-to-back 3-pointers to cap off a 12-0 scoring run and give her squad a 24-19 advantage.

The Scots then pushed the lead to six points on several occasions, but Ohio Wesleyan's offense had a scoring spurt of its own and eventually regained the lead (35-34) at the break.

As was the story against Kenyon College over the weekend, the Scots were unable to maintain consistency, as the Bishops outscored Wooster 30-17 in the second half. Wooster trailed by double-digits for the final eight minutes of the game.

On the stat sheet, Maura Hall recorded an impressive double-double with 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. She also made 10-of-12 free throws, after going 12-of-18 from the charity stripe over the weekend against Kenyon.

Also notable was Lindeman's career-high 10 points, which all came in the first half, while teammate Walker had 14 points and six boards.

Ohio Wesleyan was paced by Sarah McQuade (19 points) and Caroline Welker (17 points).

Next, Wooster visits archrival Wittenberg University Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
