WOOSTER, Ohio – Samantha Sulzer scored a career-high 22 points, but it wasn't enough to get The College of Wooster back into the win column, as Allegheny College dropped the Scots 69-47 Wednesday evening in women's basketball action at Timken Gymnasium.

Sarah Abboud provided the Scots (3-20, 2-13 NCAC) with a spark in the early goings, as she hit a 3-pointer to put them ahead 9-7, and later hit another 3-ball to increase the margin to 16-11. It was at that point that the Gators (15-9, 10-5 NCAC) gained momentum and constructed a 15-0 run to take a 26-16 lead.

On Wooster's next possession, Sulzer dropped in a lay-up to pull the Scots within eight (26-18), but Allegheny eventually took a 13-point advantage (35-22) into the break, and steadily added to its cushion in the second half.

Sulzer was a bright spot, as her 22 points were seven more than her previous career-high (15). The senior did her damage on 9-of-18 field goals and 4-of-7 free throws, and nearly recorded a double-double by adding a team-high eight rebounds.

Abboud was next in line statistically with nine points, while Jessica Wingen added eight points and six boards. Also noteworthy, Maura Hall pulled down six rebounds, Karley Walker dished out three assists, and Suvi Puripattarapan had three steals.

Allegheny was paced by Heidi Goeller's 21 points, and Kendall Hoffman (15) and Daryl Ford (13) also reached double-figures. In addition, Hoffman added five blocked shots.

Wooster will wrap up the regular season Saturday when it hosts nationally-ranked DePauw University (21-1, 14-0 NCAC). Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
