Kenyon College steadily pulled away to deal The College of Wooster a 70-44 setback Saturday evening in a North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball match-up at Gambier, Ohio.

With the game tied 8-8 in the early goings, Kenyon (15-7, 9-4 NCAC) scored nine unanswered points to go ahead 17-8. Maura Hall ended Kenyon's scoring run with a 3-pointer that made it a six-point game (17-11), and moments later, Suvi Puripattarapan made a pair of free throws to again pull Wooster (7-14, 2-10 NCAC) within six  (19-13), but that was as close as the Scots got to catching the Ladies, as they continued to extend their lead.

Wooster gave up the ball 28 times on the night, and Kenyon took advantage with 29 points off turnovers. Not to mention, Kayla Ernst had a spectacular game, totaling 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, and 9-of-9 at the free throw line, to go along with 10 rebounds.

The Scots had another strong outing at the charity stripe, though, going 17-for-20 (.850), which included a 7-for-8 mark from Hall, who led the team with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds). Puripattarapan scored nine points, while Jessica Wingen recorded eight points, six boards, and two blocked shots.

Wooster will look to bounce back Wednesday in a home tilt with Ohio Wesleyan University (7-14, 6-6 NCAC) at 6 p.m.
