Senior Cat Fiorito tied a career-high with 22 points, but The College of Wooster women's basketball team could not cool off the University of Mount Union on Sunday as they concluded the 2019 Nan Nichols Classic with a 90-73 loss.

Fiorito was named to the all tournament team after a performance that also saw her snag eight rebounds and dish out three assists. She shot 9-of-15 from the floor and 2-of-2 at the free throw line.

However, as good as Fiorito was, Mount Union had the hot hand throughout. Led by a game-high 26 point performance from Tori Rappach, Mount Union shot 50 percent from the floor (33-of-66) and 53 percent (17-of-32) from 3-point range.

Rappach alone was 8-of-10 from beyond the arc. Sarah Turley was 4-of-5 from deep, finishing with 15 points.

The Purple Raiders put the pressure on Wooster right from the start with a 21-9 first quarter.

The first three buckets of the game came from Rappach, and Mount Union led 9-2 after four minutes.

Wooster regrouped in the second quarter and cut the lead to nine at halftime at 40-31. In the final minute of the quarter, Fiorito and Sarah Marion traded 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions.

Wooster could not keep the momentum going in the third quarter as Mount built their lead to 71-46. Wooster had a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Purple Raiders 27-19. A'Kerryia Hawkins sunk a 3-pointer as time expired for her first collegiate points.

Junior Maria Janasko fell a rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Marion added nine points, and A'Janay Nicholson finished with six points and nine boards.

Wooster is now 1-1 after the Nan Nichols Classic and will travel to Carnegie Mellon University on Thursday.
