Oberlin, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's basketball team defeated Oberlin College 57-41 for their first road win and the season sweep of the Yeowomen on Wednesday night.

The Scots received a balanced effort with 11 points from Aubri McKoy and Kylie OrrMaria Janasko added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Jenna Stanton scored nine points on three 3-pointers.

The game didn't go Wooster's way in the beginning as they started with a scoring drought that lasted 5:28, but their defense kept them alive as their first points, a 3-pointer from Stanton, simply made it a 4-3 game.

On their next possession, the drought was an afterthought as Cat Fiorito connected on a 3-pointer, and Wooster had their first lead of the game.

Wooster's defense held Oberlin without a field goal for the final five minutes of the quarter. A pair of baskets from Janasko made it 10-4.

Wooster led by as many as nine in the second quarter and led 20-15 by halftime.

In the third, Oberlin fought back to tie the game at 25 and later take a brief 28-27 lead. However, in the final four minutes Wooster would go on a 10-0 run that began and ended with a 3-pointer from Stanton.

Wooster stayed in control from there, scoring the first four points of the fourth to take a 41-28 lead.

When Oberlin scored on three straight possessions midway through the quarter, McKoy had an answer with a 3-pointer and jumper. Later, Orr put the game away with three 3-pointers in the final 3:19, including one with 32 seconds remaining.

Wooster outrebounded Oberlin 32-26. Both teams had 20 points in the paint and 14 points off turnovers, but Wooster's bench outscored Oberlin's 24-1.

Both teams shot near 40 percent, but Wooster exceled from range at 38 percent (8-for-21) and from the line at 82 percent (9-for-11). Oberlin shot just 18 percent (2-for-11) from deep and was just 1-for-2 from the line.

Wooster previously beat the Yeowomen 85-75 at Timken Gymnasium in January. The Scots have won three of the last four meetings.

Wooster moves to 7-17 overall and 3-12 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Oberlin drops to 8-16 and 5-10 in conference play.

Wooster will conclude its season Saturday when they host third-ranked DePauw University (23-1, 15-0 NCAC)
