Chritz Scores Wooster’s First 18 Points in Finale

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Senior Alyssa Chritz scored The College of Wooster women's basketball team's first 18 points in the team's final regular season game on Saturday in an 83-41 loss at DePauw University.

Chritz fell two points shy of her career-high, scoring a game-high 25 points on 7 of 17 shooting, 4 of 7 from range and 7 of 13 from the foul line. She also tied for a game-high nine rebounds.

She was the only Scot to score in the first half, going 5 of 9 from the floor and 4 of 5 from deep.

Chritz kept Wooster in the game early as the teams were tied 16-16 in the second quarter. However, DePauw would embark on a game-defining 35-2 run that lasted until five minutes left in the third quarter when Alexis Lovejoy broke the drought with a 3-pointer.

DePauw was led by 15 points from Riley Mount, who shot 6 of 10 from the field. For Wooster, Erica Beaty scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds.

The Scots shot 23 percent (12 of 53) to DePauw's 49 percent (32 of 66) and were outrebounded 48-31. DePauw also found success in the paint, scoring 38 points.

DePauw (20-5) ends the season atop the North Coast Athletic Conference with an 11-3 conference record. They were trip-champions with Wittenberg University and Ohio Wesleyan University but claim the top seed heading into the NCAC Tournament.

Wooster moves to 6-19 overall and 1-13 in the NCAC. They head to the tournament to face the Tigers once again on Tuesday after losing the coin flip to determine the seventh and eighth seeds.
