Scots Wrap Up Season At DePauw
Scots trailed by one after first quarter
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster women's basketball team wrapped up its season with a 73-39 loss at DePauw University on Saturday.
The women played a competitive first quarter against the second-place team in the North Coast Athletic Conference, only trailing by one after 10 minutes.
The Scots had balanced scoring in the quarter with baskets from five different players - Mackenzie Riccitelli, Ella Dean, Lynx Lander, Anna Hardink and Ace Sturdivant.
Sturdivant hit a 3-pointer for the quarter's final basket as they Scots trailed 12-11.
From there, DePauw took control with a 20-8 second quarter and then a 25-7 third.
Riccitelli's 11 points led the Scots.
Her 416 points this season ranks seventh on Wooster's all-time single season list, and her 16.6 points per game puts her 10th.
Sturdivant and Ellery Kloek each scored five points, while four others scored four points.
Wooster shot just 30 percent (13 of 44) to DePauw's 43 percent (27 of 63). The Scots also struggled from range, going 2 of 19 (11 percent) but shot 11 of 15 (73 percent) from the foul line.
DePauw's Ava Hassel scored 12 points to lead all scorers. Olivia Hart recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
DePauw improves to 18-6 overall and 12-2 in conference play. They earn the two seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming six-team NCAC Tournament.
Wooster finishes its year at 5-20 and 2-12 in the NCAC.
