Bio

Michael Baus joined The College of Wooster women's basketball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in June 2021.

Prior to joining the college ranks, Baus coached high school basketball for five years at Northwestern High School and, later, 11 years at Wooster High School. In his last year at Northwestern, his team made it to the district finals. He then revived the program at Wooster, compiling a record of 165-86 with three OCC Championships and three district appearances.

Baus graduated from Bowling Green University in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry. He obtained his doctorate from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1980. He started his coaching career at Bowling Green as both a player and head coach for the rugby team. In 1976, he was voted MVP of the rugby team and a year later led them to a seventh place national ranking.

Baus also has experience coaching AAU basketball for NEO Swish and Buckeye Blast. His teams recently won the platinum and silver divisions at the Run 4 the Rose tournament.

Baus resides in Wooster with his wife, Lori. They have five children and three grandchildren.
