Wooster Finishes Fall Season on an Up Note, Taking 3rd at Mount Union
Scots' four scorers all within six strokes of each other
The College of Wooster women's golf team closed the competitive portion of its inaugural fall season by placing third at the Mount Union Fall Invitational, a single-day, 18-hole event at the par-72, 6189-yard Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
Wooster demonstrated not only improvement, but consistency, as all four of its scorers were within six strokes of each other and its team total of 404 marked a season-best by eight strokes. While the Fighting Scots' No. 1 player, Rainey Sullivan, led the way again with a 99, Jane Siegel and DaSol Kuen both scored 100, and Janet Zahorsky came in the clubhouse at 105. That marked the lowest scores for Wooster's No. 3 and No. 4 players for the fall.
Host Mount Union won its own event with a 333, highlighted by a 79 for medalist Mary Snode.
The Scots will officially resume the 2010-11 season in March.
