The College of Wooster's women's golf team shot a program record 358 during the second day of the Denison Fall Invitational on Sunday en route to a seventh-place finish overall at the par-71, 6,210-yard Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.

The Scots followed up a solid 367 on day one with Sunday's 358, which is four strokes better than the team's previous record round of 362 at last year's Laura Bump Invitational.

Wooster benefited from strong rounds by freshman Sharmeen Chinoy and junior Rainey Sullivan. Playing in the first event of her collegiate career, Chinoy shot a 170 (86-84) to tie for 13th-place, while Sullivan, who has been the Scots' top-golfer over the last two years, tied for 19th-place with a 173 (88-85).

Also contributing to Wooster's team score were Hanna Gabriel with a 184 (94-90), Alyssia Gilbert with a 198 (99-99), and Nichole Gustafson with a 220 (116-104).

Wittenberg University (652) finished out in front of the 11-team field, while the Scots (725) were pretty well locked into seventh, as they were 35 strokes in front of eighth-place Capital University (760), but 31 strokes behind sixth-place Ohio Wesleyan University (694).

The Scots will look to build off their record-setting round when they compete in the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational next weekend.
