GRANVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's golf team fired two consecutive rounds of 349, and finished eighth at the highly-competitive Lynn Schweizer Invitational, held this weekend at the par-71, 5,824-yard Granville Golf Club.

Junior Megan Gronau held true to the team's theme of the weekend with consecutive 83s to lead the way for the Fighting Scots. That equated to a 22nd-place finish for the neuroscience major. Classmate Lilly Dunning almost did likewise with identical scores, with her opening 89 one-bettering Sunday's tally. Dunning tied for 48th-place.

Senior Hannah Appleman turned in Wooster's second-lowest total at 174, which rounded out the Scots in the top-35 of the 77-player field. Appleman opened with an 84 and closed with a 90.

Senior Kaci Carpenter and sophomore Kayla Audette rounded out Wooster's lineup. Carpenter tied for 50th-place at 180, while Audette tied for 53rd-place at 183.

Other scores to note from Wooster's individuals, included a career-best 84 logged by sophomore Meghan Wright during Saturday's round.

Sixth-ranked DePauw University carded a 643 to finish 12 stroke clear of runner-up Stevenson University. Noteworthy, Wooster did finish ahead of Wittenberg University, which checked in at No. 25 in the Women's Golf Coaches Association preseason rankings.

Ithaca College's Peyton Greco captured the medalist trophy at 147.

Next, Wooster's at Ohio Wesleyan University's Fall Invitational, set to take place Sept. 7-8. The Scots are the defending champions (2017) of the event, which was not contested last year due to inclement weather.
