Wooster Wins Westminster Fall Invitational

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Five members of The College of Wooster women's golf team placed in the top-10, and the Fighting Scots comfortably won Westminster College's Fall Invitational with a 327 on Saturday afternoon at Avalon Field Club.

Junior Lilly Dunning shot a 5-over-par 77 to finish as the runner-up, and she was one stroke off her collegiate best. Classmate Megan Gronau fired a season-low 79 and tied for fourth-place. Sophomore Meghan Wright finished one stroke off her collegiate best, and she tied for eighth-place at 85. The top-10 showing marked Wright's first of her collegiate career.

Senior Hannah Appleman and sophomore Kayla Audette, who was playing as an individual, carded 86s and tied for 10th-place. Senior Kaci Carpenter's 88 landed her in a tie for 14th-place.

Malone University and Westminster both shot a 341. The Titans' Erika Hoover shot a 2-over-par 74 to claim the medalist honor.

Of note, the win marked the program's fourth over the last two seasons.

Wooster's back in action at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, which starts on Saturday, October 5 at Wooster Country Club.
