The College of Wooster women's golf team picked up its first win of the season, with the Fighting Scots beating Ohio Wesleyan University and falling to host Wittenberg University in Sunday's three-team tournament at the par-72, 5,809-yard Springfield Country Club.

Senior Megan Gronau anchored Wooster's lineup once again from the No. 1 position and had the Scots' top score at 86. Gronau carded a birdie on the par-five, fifth hole, and the Scots were on point throughout the lineup with the team playing that hole at even-par, thanks to pars from senior Tongtong Wu, first-year Melissa Cooke, and senior Devon Matson.

Wu shot an 89, and she was dialed in on the par-3 holes, finishing at 1-over-par across those four holes.

Cooke was next with a 90, marking a six-stroke improvement over her collegiate debut on Saturday. Cooke had a strong closing stretch, playing the final five holes at 2-over-par.

Matson (103) and sophomore Riley Thorr (110) rounded out Wooster's fivesome. The Scots had a team score of 368, while Wittenberg checked in at 343 and Ohio Wesleyan at 382.

Next, Wooster's at Denison University for a tri-match against the Big Red and Wittenberg on March 27.
