Scots Tune Up For NCAC Championships at Denison Spring Invitational

The College of Wooster women's golf team is in fourth-place at the midway point of the Denison University Spring Invitational, which is taking place this weekend at the par-71, 5,805-yard Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio. The Fighting Scots carded a 357 on Saturday.

Senior Megan Gronau's 86 was the top score among the Scots, and she's tied for 10th-place. Gronau's back-nine started with three straight pars, and she played the par-five holes at 1-over-par for the day.

Senior Tongtong Wu was next at 87, and she's in 14th-place. Wu pared three of the par-three holes on the day and is in the top-five in the field in par-three scoring.

Junior Kayla Audette was right behind Wu at 88, and Audett's tied for 15th-place. First-year Melissa Cooke shot a 96 and is tied for 21st-place.

Sophomore Riley Thorr's 102 rounded out the lineup, while senior Devon Matson (104) and first-year Drew Patterson (108) are playing as individuals.

Host Denison has a comfortable lead over the five-team field. The Big Red shot a 320 on Saturday, 14 strokes clear of DePauw University, which is in second place. The Big Red's Sophia Alexander is the clubhouse leader after a 5-over-par 76.

Wooster's tee time for Sunday's round is set for 1:30 p.m.
