The College of Wooster women's golf team is in search of its second-ever top-three showing at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and the Fighting Scots are in contention to challenge for just that next week Saturday. Wooster fired a 360 on Saturday and sits in fourth-place after event one of the NCAC Championship Series. The Scots are four strokes back of third-place Wittenberg University.

Senior Megan Gronau, who is hoping to become the second three-time All-NCAC performer in program history, is currently in contention for an all-conference spot, as is classmate Tongtong Wu, who now must stay in the top-15 in overall score. Gronau's currently in 12th-place after an 85 on Saturday. She birdied the par-3, 160-yard fourth hole at the par-72, 5,805-yard Denison University Golf Club. Wu, in search of her second All-NCAC certificate, is in 13th-place after an 86 on Saturday. Wu's best stretch came just before the turn, as she carded pars on holes six through eight.

Junior Kayla Audette's 93 ranks third within the team and is tied for 22nd in the field. Audette pared a pair of par-5 holes on Saturday.

First-year Melissa Cooke carded a 96 in her first round at the NCAC Championships. Cooke logged the Scots' other birdie on the day, and that came at the par-4, 293-yard 13th hole.

Sophomore Riley Thorr, also competing in her first NCAC Championships, shot a 99 to round out Wooster's competitors.

Denison shot a 308 and has a 16-stroke lead over DePauw University. The Big Red's Sophia Alexander and Megan Wong are tied for first-place individually after 2-over-par 74s.

Event two takes place on Saturday, May 1 at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio.
