Siewert Now a Five-Time Athlete of the Week
Senior won two medalist honors last week
A dominant week resulted in a fifth North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week award for The College of Wooster's Ally Siewert.
Siewert took down a career program record and tied another one in finishing as the medalist at Thursday's Grove City College Fall Invitational and Saturday's dual match against Ohio Wesleyan University. At Grove City, Siewert logged her 19th top-five finish at traditional tournaments (minimum of four teams) in impressive fashion, carding a career-best 1-over-par 73. Siewert took over the top spot on the leaderboard with a birdie on the par-5, 480-yard 16th hole and had another birdie on No. 17. A par on No. 18 at Grove City Country Club secured the sixth-best score in program history.
Siewert's fourth career medalist honor was secured with another strong closing stretch on Saturday. En route to her 77, Siewert played the last five holes at 2-under-par. She birdied the par-5, 488-yard 15th hole and the par-4, 343-yard 17th hole at Riceland Golf Course.
Siewert was a three-time NCAC Athlete of the Week as a junior and earned her first conference honor as a sophomore.
Wooster returns to action at this weekend's John Carroll University Fall Invitational, which takes place at Manakiki Golf Course.
