Medalist Erdmann NCAC Athlete of the Week
Sophomore's 77 the winning score over the weekend
The College of Wooster's Morgan Erdmann is the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week following her first collegiate medalist honor.
Erdmann was one off her collegiate-best 76 on Saturday at Tannenhauf Golf Club. Her 77 won the rain-shortened University of Mount Union Spring Invitational and was the top score by two strokes. The sophomore chipped in on back-to-back holes for birdies, and that kicked off a stretch where she played 13 holes at even-par. Erdmann's third Saturday birdie came on the par-5, 442-yard 16th hole and helped her play the back nine at 1-over-par.
Erdmann helped Wooster to a runner-up finish, seven strokes back of Mount Union. The runner-up finish was the team's fourth of the season.
Erdmann is the second Fighting Scot to earn NCAC Athlete of the Week honors this year. Senior Ally Siewert was selected for the fifth time following two medalist honors in late September.
Wooster is back in action at the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, held April 6-7 at Wooster Country Club.
