Scots Have Three Appear on IWLCA All-Region Team

Nina Dine The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team, which won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Div. III Tournament in 2010, had three players named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-West Region Team, as announced by the organization Thursday.

Garnering first-team selections were junior attacker Nina Dine and senior defender Britta Harman, while senior attacker Becca Worthington earned second-team accolades.

Dine put together the sixth-highest scoring season in program history, and the most in seven years, with her 68-point (51 goals, 17 assists) campaign in 2010. She was consistent all season long in her role as Wooster's go-to scorer, totaling 11 hat tricks in all, and never went a game without recording a goal. Her 51 goals rank her fourth on the school's all-time single-season list, and she was third in the NCAC with 3.19 per game.

Harman used her experience and aggressive play to once again lead a stingy defensive unit, which allowed opponents 9.47 goals per game, the third-lowest mark in the NCAC. The four-year starter was one of the best in the conference at causing turnovers (19), and was also among the team's leaders in groundballs (27) and draw controls (13). She also showcased her versatility by scoring on each of her two shot attempts, and added an assist on the season.

Worthington had a career year in 2010, as the senior scored 43 goals, which were 10 more than she had scored in her entire three years prior. She also added 10 assists en rout to a 53-point season, which like Dine, was among the most productive in recent memory. The senior will likely best be remembered for her efforts in a 14-11 comeback victory over Allegheny College, where she scored seven goals, including three in overtime, to seal the win.
