WOOSTER, Ohio – Madison Carey scored three goals and dished out six assists to push her career points total to an even 200 and lead The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team to a blowout 21-6 victory over Otterbein University on Thursday afternoon at a chilly Carl Dale Field.

With 11:10 remaining in the game, Carey passed out an assist to Sophia Hoover Grant to collect her 200th point, becoming one of only seven players in program history to reach the rare milestone. For her career, Carey has 144 goals and 56 assists, which rank seventh and fifth all-time, respectively, in Wooster's record books. The Scots (6-3-1) have a minimum of seven games remaining on their schedule, meaning Carey will likely surpass several others on the list in the coming weeks.

Wooster jumped out to a 7-0 lead just 10:02 into the action, and owned a commanding 14-3 cushion at the break. In the second half, the Scots scored six in a row to make it 20-3, before Otterbein (2-7) generated some late offense in the closing minutes.

Carey, Clare Nelson-Johnson, and Eliza Perry each recorded hat tricks, and Nelson-Johnson added three assists as well en route to a six-point day. Also noteworthy, Emily Johnson produced her first-ever two-goal game, while Shelby Stone, Ashley Parry, and Hoover Grant also each added a pair of goals.

Nelson-Johnson and Cassie Greenbaum combined to corral 12 of the Scots' 17 draw controls, while Isabel Baylor led the defense with four groundballs and three caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Shawna Ferris allowed just three goals over 48:12 and made three saves.

Wooster's high-scoring offense (16.0 gpg) will host Centre College this Saturday at 1 p.m.
