WOOSTER, Ohio – Eliza Perry scored three goals and dished out three assists, leading The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team to an 18-8 victory over an improved Oberlin College squad Tuesday evening at an unseasonably cold Carl Dale Field.

The Yeowomen (8-2, 0-2 NCAC) scored the game's opening goal, and trailed just 3-2 nearly 10 minutes into the action, but Shelby Stone scored twice in an 11-second spurt to spark an 8-1 scoring run. Wooster (8-3-1, 1-1 NCAC) pumped in the last four goals heading into halftime, including Perry's third with 17 seconds remaining on the clock, which put the Scots out in front 11-3 at the break.

The second stanza started with two Oberlin goals (11-5), but Wooster countered with four-straight scores, including the finishing touches on hat tricks for Stone and Clare Nelson-Johnson, to push the Scot cushion to 15-5. Jaqueline Wallat also scored her third goal with just 2:35 to go in regulation, becoming the team's fourth player to record a hat trick.

Oberlin actually led in ground balls (26-23) and draw controls (15-13), and turned the ball over one less time (22-21), but Wooster made the most of its offensive opportunities.

Aside from the previously mentioned hat tricks, Madison Carey and Cassie Greenbaum each scored twice, and Emily Johnson and Sophia Hoover Grant added a goal apiece. Alison Schlothauer led the Scots with five groundballs, while Greenbaum and Isabel Baylor both chipped in three.

Goalkeeper Shawna Ferris made 10 saves and allowed seven goals over 52:06, while her counterpart, Madeline O'Meara, recorded eight saves in the setback.

Next, Wooster heads to Kenyon College (4-5, 0-1 NCAC) Saturday for a 2 p.m. start.
