For the second day in a row, The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team scored 19 points, as the Fighting Scots edged out Centre College 19-13 Sunday in Danville, Ky.

The Scots (6-1) held a commanding 10-4 lead at the game's midway point, and Alison Schlothauer made it 11-4 with a goal just 21 seconds into the second half, but then suddenly, Centre (7-6) put together a scoring run that made things interesting.

The Colonels scored six times during a 5:38 spurt that pulled them within a single goal (11-10), until Ellie Hudson-Heck halted the run with her fourth goal of the game, which shifted the momentum back in Wooster's favor.

Just like Centre did in the early goings of the second half, the Scots put together a scoring run of their own, as Cassie Greenbaum, Eliza Perry, Abby Szlachta, and Shelby Stone pumped in goals to cap off a 5-0 stretch that put Wooster back on top by a comfortable margin (16-10).

Centre crept back within four at 17-13, but Greenbaum and Stone added late insurance goals to solidify the Scots' sixth consecutive victory.

Greenbaum tied a career high with four goals, while Hudson-Heck's four goals were the second-most of her young career. The Scots' point leader on the day was Perry, who scored twice and passed out a career-high five assists for a seven-point outing. Clare Nelson-Johnson, Schlothauer, and Szlachta each scored twice.

Isabel Perman made her second start in goal, and was much busier this time, totaling eight saves.

Also noteworthy on the defensive side, Schlothauer caused four turnovers and Kari Martyniak scooped up four groundballs.

Wooster will kick off the North Coast Athletic Conference portion of its schedule when it visits Allegheny College (6-2, 0-1 NCAC) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
