The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team scored twice during the early moments of the second half to pull within 8-6, but could not complete its second comeback in three days as second-seeded Kenyon College answered with a 6-1 run en route to a 14-9 win in the North Coast Athletic Conference championship game Saturday at Gambier, Ohio.

Kenyon (13-2) takes the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Div. III Championship field.

After trailing by three seven different times, including 10-7 early in the second half, before upending top-seeded Wittenberg University 14-13 in double overtime on Thursday, Wooster (13-5) appeared to be in the early stages of another impressive comeback when it cut Kenyon's 8-4 halftime lead in half with goals from Abby Szlachta and Eliza Perry just 2:03 into the second.

The Fighting Scots had a good opportunity to make it a one-goal game, but were unable to convert a free-position attempt, and instead, the Ladies pushed their advantage back to four on scores at the 24:12 and 21:27 marks.

Molly Sennett connected about four minutes later to give Wooster life again as that made it 10-7, however, Kenyon responded by netting two goals within the next minute as part of a game-clinching four-goal run.

In the first half, the Scots tallied the first two on the scoreboard, then the Ladies put together their first 4-0 stretch of the day en route to the four-goal halftime advantage.

Perry had a hat trick to pace Wooster's offense, while Ellie Hudson-Heck and Szlachta scored two goals apiece. Cassie Greenbaum played particularly well with one goal, three assists, and five draw controls, and Shawna Ferris made 11 saves.

Making the all-tournament team for the Scots were Greenbaum, Alison Schlothauer, Shelby Stone, and Szlachta.
