The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team reached the 20-goal mark for the first time this season on Thursday night, as it overwhelmed Linfield College by a final score of 20-3 in a match-up of an undefeated team versus a winless team, played under the lights at McMinnville, Ore.

Wooster (4-0), which scored 20-plus goals six times last year, dictated action throughout. In fact, the Fighting Scots constructed a 7-0 lead before even allowing Linfield (0-5) to record a shot.

On offense, Wooster worked the ball around for high-quality shots, connecting on five of its opening eight to take a 5-0 advantage less than seven minutes into the game. Ellie Hudson-Heck accounted for three of those goals.

The Scots later extended it to 8-0 on a Michaela Lawrence tally before the Wildcats cracked the scoreboard around the midway point of the half.

Next, Wooster closed with five unanswered goals for a lead of 13-1 at the end of the first half, which featured five goals and an assist by Hudson-Heck.

The Scots utilized the second half as an opportunity to play many of their younger players, with six of seven goals being scored by first-years or sophomores, including three from Laura Papp.

In addition to Hudson-Heck and Papp, Lawrence and Abby Szlachta contributed hat tricks. Szlachta passed out an assist for a four-point outing, while Heather Szymanski contributed two goals and two assists during the winning effort.

Wooster, which only wound up allowing six shots, won 18 of the draw controls, with Emma Lawrence and Megan Healy combining to collect 11.

Also notable, the game represented a match-up of sisters Helena Enders and Kat Enders, with the former being a sophomore attacker for Wooster and the latter the head coach at Linfield.

The Scots will complete their three-game swing in Oregon on Sunday versus Whitman College (1-5).
