WOOSTER, Ohio – An efficient 20 goals on 30 shots on frame led The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team to a 20-3 victory over Franciscan University of Steubenville as five different players tallied at least four points on Wednesday evening at John P. Papp Stadium in Wooster, Ohio.

Senior Heather Szymanski led the outing with five goals on seven shots to go along with two assists. Sophomore Laura Papp and first-year Jenny Grossmann totaled four each. Notable, Szymanski's seven points marks her highest total of the season and one below her career-high of eight set against Hiram College in 2016.

First-year Jenny Grossmann tied a season-high in groundballs (5), points (4), goals (4) and caused turnovers (3).

Papp, Szymanski and junior Michaela Lawrence each recorded two assists, with Lawrence totaling two goals to round out the four-point scorers.

Defensively, sophomore Megan Healy posted game-highs in draw controls (6), groundballs (6) and caused turnovers (4). Of note, Healy's six groundballs and four caused turnovers mark the most by a Scot this year in each category. Sophomores Jordan Stone and Megan Myers, along with Grossmann, followed Healy with three caused turnovers each.

The Fighting Scots (6-2, 0-1 North Coast Athletic Conference) outshot Franciscan 22-1 in the first half en route to 13 goals. Grossmann connected just 16 seconds into the game, followed by three straight from Papp and an addition two from Szymanski.

Junior Helena Enders ended the half with two goals, first off the assist from Papp before being on the receiving end of Stone. Enders then opened the second half with a tally nearly three minutes on a solo effort.

Franciscan's (2-6) offensive production upped in the final thirty minutes with three goals on six shots.

Proving creative in front of the crease before the game's end was Grossmann, who picked up her own rebound with her back to the goal before firing a between-the-legs, no-look shot that found its way past Franciscan goalkeeper Brittany Bain for her 15th goal of the season with 8:34 left to play.

On the whole, Wooster was 11-for-12 on clear attempts and picked up a total of 33 groundballs, the most this season for the Black & Gold. At the draw, the Scots held a 16-9 advantage while first-year goalkeeper Emma Hambright finished with four saves. In addition, Wooster's 20 total caused turnovers marks a season-high.
