NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 after a 20-4 win over Westminster College (Pa.) on Thursday.

It was Wooster's second double-digit win in as many games.

After Jordan Stone and Emma Lawrence tallied four goal performances in the season opener, Ashley Boersma followed up with one of her own on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Alexa Mellis was making it all happen. She was an assist shy of tying the program record, finishing with seven. Mellis also finished with a game-high nine points.

Jenny Grossmann finished with three goals, and five others scored two – Mellis, Stone, Laura Papp, Megan Healy and Caitlyn O'Connor. Miura Wiley, Sydney Schuster and Lawrence all finished with one.

Papp scored four minutes into the game only to be answered by Westminster's Emily Amico 1:12 later. Wooster then scored four unanswered with two goals from Grossmann and one each from Boersma and Mellis.

After Westminster made it 5-2 with 19:12 left in the first half, Wooster went on a 7-0 spurt to close the half and led 12-2 at halftime. Boersma scored three of the final four goals to close the half as the Scots received one score each from Papp, Healy, Lawrence and Stone.

In the second half, the Scots opened with four goals, making it 11 unanswered between the two halves. O'Connor then scored the next two goals before Wiley and Schuster wrapped up the scoring.

Katie Shideler made four saves for the win. Caroline Dent got into the game and collected a save in the final 19:17.
