Scots Cruise Past Albion 4-1 for Sixth-Straight Win

The College of Wooster women's soccer team continued to roll on Saturday afternoon, as it built a 3-0 first-half lead and eventually finished off Albion College by a 4-1 count in a non-league match-up at Albion, Mich.

Wooster (6-0-1), which maintained its unblemished record and upped its win streak to six, scored just 7:08 into the action when Chantal Koechli delivered a corner kick into the box, where Liz Mott headed it in, marking the junior's squad-leading fourth goal this season. Around the 20-minute mark, the Fighting Scots' Mary Riney made it a 2-0 game as she fired a shot from the top of the box and beat the 'keeper to the left. Koechli extended the margin to three goals via an unassisted tally from 16 yards out in the 31st minute.

Midway through the second half, Nicole Himebaugh netted Wooster's fourth and final score. The sophomore forward made a move to beat one defender and then beat the goalie for her first goal this year. Albion (3-1-2) would score with just 1:49 remaining to avoid the shutout.

Michele Ring recorded five saves before being pulled with about 12 minutes to go and the Scots comfortably ahead.

Wooster will remain in Michigan and take on Kalamazoo College (1-3-1) Sunday at 1 p.m.
