Himebaugh Scores Two Goals in Tie at Kalamazoo

The College of Wooster was unable to get the win, but sophomore Nicole Himebaugh scored two goals to help the Fighting Scots remain unbeaten in a 2-2 tie with Kalamazoo College on Sunday at Kalamazoo, Mich.

The Hornets (1-3-2) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as C.J. McCarthy beat the 'keeper and scored on a Jackie Short assist less than two minutes into the match. Wooster (6-0-2) would tie it up and then take the lead late in the first half when Himebaugh scored her second and third goals of the season over a two-minute span. Himebaugh delivered on assists from Erin Davison at the 37:56 mark and Paige Piper at 39:22 to make it 2-1 at the break.

The Scots would outshoot Kalamazoo 9-2 in the second half, but Julia Schroeder made her strike count when she found the back of the net in the 54th minute to knot the match up at two apiece. Neither team would score again during the remainder of the match, and both teams only attempted one shot during the two overtime periods.

John Carroll University (2-4-1) will travel to Carl Dale Memorial Field on Wednesday as the Scots finally have their home opener at 4 p.m.
