Wooster Falls to Misericordia 1-0 Early in OT

Despite doubling Misericordia University's shot attempts (16-8) in regulation, The College of Wooster fell in overtime 1-0 when it allowed a goal off of a corner kick in the 93rd minute Saturday afternoon at Dallas, Pa.

Neither the Scots (6-4) or Cougars (7-1-1) produced many good looks in the first half, but Wooster appeared poised to find the back of the net after the break. Wooster led a staggering 12-1 in second half shot attempts, but goalkeeper Morgan Myers was able to fend off several would-be goals to preserve a scoreless tie and push an extra period.

Just minutes into the first overtime, Jenica Keister headed in a corner kick from Laura Kerney that gave Misericordia its third-consecutive win via a shutout.

Classmates Paige Piper and Erin Davison led Wooster with three shot attempts apiece. Goalkeeper Michel Ring recorded six saves, including one early in overtime, but settled for defeat.

Wooster will host Walsh University (5-1) in its final non-conference tilt Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
