WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster scored goals on three consecutive shots spanning a 12-minute time period in the middle of the first half, and then cruised to a 3-1 women's soccer victory over Heidelberg University Wednesday at Carl Dale Field.

Now winners of four in a row, Wooster's (4-2) scoring spurt began in the 18th minute. Maggie Kehm dribbled down the right side and into the box, crossed the ball to Mary Riney, who in turn found an open Crystal Chavez at the left post, and the freshman finished the play for her first collegiate goal.

It didn't take long for Chavez to net her second. During the 22nd minute, Kehm feathered another pass through the defense into the middle of the box where Chavez blasted it in for a 2-0 advantage.

Kehm was also part of the third goal, which came in the 30th minute. The senior forward/midfielder once again brought the ball across the right end line, then sent another cross that found Lida Bilokur at the top of the box and Bilokur drove it in for a three-goal cushion. It marked the second career goal for Bilokur, a senior defensive-oriented middie.

Heidelberg (2-3) rarely threatened the Fighting Scots' defensive end, but did get on the scoreboard during the 74th minute to prevent the shutout.

Overall, Wooster doubled 'the Berg in shots (14-7) and tallied seven corner kicks to their one.

The Scots' winning streak will be tested Saturday, as they welcome No. 8 ranked Centre College (5-0) for a 1 p.m. contest.
