WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster's and DePauw University's women's soccer teams combined for three goals during a 3:25 stretch early in the second half, highlighting the evenly-matched North Coast Athletic Conference foes 2-2 draw Saturday afternoon at Carl Dale Field.

With DePauw (4-8-1, 2-2-1 NCAC) holding a 1-0 lead after a relatively quite first half, which consisted of four shots for each squad, the offensive intensity picked up in the second. Wooster (6-6-2, 1-1-2 NCAC) evened the scoreboard in the 54th minute when goalkeeper Michele Ring delivered a free kick from right at the midfield line into the box where it bounced to Kelsey Peters, who headed the ball in for her second goal this fall. It marked Ring's third assist.

Less than three minutes later, the Tigers failed to clear a ball on a goalie kick, as Mary Riney settled it, and from about 30 yards out, drove it just out of the 'keeper's reach and under the crossbar for her second goal this season, as the Fighting Scots suddenly were ahead 2-1.

That lead didn't last long. DePauw brought the ball into the box and was fouled, resulting in a penalty kick a mere 37 seconds later, and Alex Ehr delivered it to the lower left corner to make it 2-2 with 33:19 still on the clock.

Both offenses had quality chances throughout the remainder of regulation, none better than when Wooster's Erika Kay took a shot from the left wing that bounced off the right post as time expired.

The Scots had five attempts during the extra sessions to the Tigers zero, but Caroline Kerr made the tie hold up with four of her nine saves. Ring was credited with seven for the day.

Wooster will be at Hiram College (3-9-2, 0-4-1 NCAC) on Wednesday night.
