Katherine Tuttle was in the right position for a rebound goal, lifting The College of Wooster to a 1-0 road win at Kenyon College in the women's soccer teams' North Coast Athletic Conference opener, played at a wet Mavec Field in Gambier, Ohio.

While Tuttle scored, it was freshman Lily Mohre who forced the action for Wooster (6-4-1, 1-0-0 NCAC) that led to the match's lone goal in the 67th minute. From the right side, Mohre drove an attempt that forced the opposing 'keeper to make a one-handed leaping deflection. The ball went to Tuttle, positioned on the left side, and she knocked it in, marking the sophomore's second career goal.

The Fighting Scots' defense made the lead hold up, as Kenyon (4-5-0, 0-1-0 NCAC) took just two shots the rest of the way. Both teams finished with nine shots, but none of the Ladies were on target as goalie Michele Ring did not have to make a save while notching her fourth shutout of the season.

Wooster does not play again until next Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Allegheny College (4-5-1, 0-1-0 NCAC).
