For the second time in as many North Coast Athletic Conference matches, The College of Wooster women's soccer team used a single goal and stingy defense for a 1-0 road victory as the Fighting Scots used that combination to defeat Allegheny College Wednesday afternoon at Meadville, Pa.

Wednesday's lone score came during the 19th minute. The play started with freshman Lily Mohre positioned in the right corner near the end line where she crossed the ball into the box. Allegheny's goalie attempted to control the pass, but didn't control the ball and Erika Kay was there to knock in the loose ball for a team-leading sixth goal.

Wooster (7-4-1, 2-0-0 NCAC) made the lead hold up, keyed by goalkeeper Michele Ring, who tallied eight saves, highlighted by a lunging stop during the 90th minute to cap her fifth shutout this season.

The Scots will play their first home conference game this Saturday, as Denison University (3-6-1, 2-0-0 NCAC) pays a visit to Carl Dale Field with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
