The Lily Mohre to Crystal Chavez connection was all The College of Wooster needed, as the duo went in on a pair of goals just minutes apart early in the second half to lead the Fighting Scots to a 2-0 win over Denison University on Saturday afternoon in a North Coast Athletic Conference women's soccer tilt at Carl Dale Field.

Denison (3-7-1, 2-1-0 NCAC) had the better scoring opportunities in the first half, as all five of its shots were on goal, but goalkeeper Michele Ring made a save each time to keep the Big Red off the board and preserve a 0-0 tie at halftime.

The Scots (8-4-1, 3-0-0 NCAC) lit the scoreboard early in the second, though, when in the 52nd minute, Mohre crossed a ball from the right side towards a streaking Chavez, and the latter found the back of the net to give Wooster a 1-0 lead. Then just 2:57 later, the two hooked up on a nearly identical play to put Denison in a 2-0 hole that it wouldn't recover from.

Now with a perfect 3-0 record in conference play, the Scots will look to keep rolling when they head to DePauw University (1-8-1, 1-1-1 NCAC) next Saturday at noon.
