A three-goal second half Saturday kept The College of Wooster women's soccer team undefeated in North Coast Athletic Conference play as the Fighting Scots dispatched DePauw University 3-1 at Greencastle, Ind.

Halfway through the conference season, Wooster (9-4-1, 4-0-0 NCAC) sits in good position – first-place in the standings and with three of its final four matches at home.

The Scots were in a little bit of danger of taking their first league loss Saturday, as a third-minute goal by DePauw (2-9-1, 2-2-1 NCAC) was the lone score of the opening half. Lauren Hancher got Wooster going early in the second, though, as the freshman connected on her first career goal 2:40 into the stanza.

It remained 1-1 for another 26 minutes, then the Scots broke the game open with two quick scores. Erika Kay gave Wooster the lead on a pass from Kendal Wong with 16:37 remaining, and just 58 seconds later, Kay assisted on a Paige Piper goal for a nice cushion.

Michele Ring yielded her initial goal in conference action, but the Scots' keeper went on to make five saves en route to win.

Next, Wooster will host Hiram College (4-8-2, 1-4-0 NCAC) Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
