Titans, Rain Hit Scots Hard

Maya McDonald NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The College of Wooster women's soccer team struggled on the road and with the weather Wednesday, suffering a 6-0 loss to Westminster College.

The rain came down hard at the start of the contest and before the Scots knew it they found themselves down 2-0. The rain eventually let up, but the Titans did not.

The Titans scored three goals in each half. Julia Redilla and Brooke Horvath each scored twice.

In the downpour, Horvath scored in the first 1:26, while Redilla made it 2-0 in the 4th minute.

As the rain cleared up, Horvath made it 3-0 in the 16th minute as the Titans took that score into halftime.

Before the Scots could amount a comeback in the second half, the Titans scored in the 51st and 59th minute before closing the game out with a final goal in the 83rd minute.

Westminster outshot the Scots 20-11. Wooster had just two shots on goal.

Bri Lowry took the loss in goal and made four saves.

The win was Westminster's fourth straight as they improve to 5-0-1. Wooster drops to 2-4.

Wooster hosts Wilmington College on Saturday.
