Purple Raiders and Rain No Match for Scots

Despite the constant rain and the game being moved to Papp Stadium, The College of Wooster women's soccer team had no issues Wednesday with a 4-0 win over the University of Mount Union.

The Purple Raiders could barely get any steady offense going as the Scots outshot Mount Union 22-8. Wooster also opened scoring early in the sixth minute as sophomore Naomi Mann scored off a ball she found bouncing around the front of the goal.

Wooster had another rebounded goal in the 34th minute as junior Katie Schumacher sent a ball toward the goal that the goalie could not handle. Junior Teddi Farson picked up the pieces to make it 2-0.

The Scots scored twice more in the second half, both off crosses. Senior Miura Wiley scored on a strike in the 55th minute off an assist from first-year Hallie KrzysAbout 10 minutes later, Schumacher got into the scoring off an assist from Mann.

Sophomore Kyra Stief made three saves to collect the win in goal.

Wooster moves to 4-4, while Mount Union drops to 3-3-1. Wooster has outscored opponents 11-0 in its last two games.

Next, Wooster will host Adrian College on Saturday during Black & Gold Weekend.
