Scots Escape with Thrilling Overtime Win

The College of Wooster women's soccer team pushed their win streak to three after defeating Adrian College 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.

The Scots sent the Black & Gold crowd home happy when the Scots' offense found an opening in the 93rd minute. Senior Miura Wiley led the push and made the perfect pass to junior Teddi Farson who scored into the left side of the goal.

It was Farson's seventh goal of the year, which puts her first on the team and within the conference.

Wiley scored her fifth goal of the year to get the scoring started for the Scots. She scored in the 10th minute, unassisted, after using her speed to break through the Bulldog defense.

The two teams traded goals the rest of the way. Adrian knotted the game shortly after in the 14th minute behind a goal from Morgan Wands.

Wooster would take the lead before halftime in the 39th minute. This time Wooster took advantage following a corner kick. After the initial scrum Farson was able to kick the ball out and find junior Katie Schumacher for the goal.

It was Schumacher's fourth goal of the season.

Adrian's Mckenna Mahoney scored her seventh goal on the season in the 60th minute, and the two teams would take that 2-2 score into overtime.

Wooster outshot Adrian 17-14 and held the corner kick advantage 6-4. Wooster keeper Kyra Stief recorded the win and made four saves.

Wooster is now 5-4, and Adrian drops to 5-5. The Scots travel to Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday for its final non-conference game.
