Scots Capture First NCAC Win with 5-goal Performance

Miura Wiley The College of Wooster women's soccer team never trailed as they captured their first North Coast Athletic Conference game on Tuesday with a 5-2 victory over Hiram College.

Senior Miura Wiley and first-year Hallie Krzys each gave the Scots two goals as Wiley scored the first two and Krzys followed with two of her own.

Wiley put the Scots on the board unassisted in the 16th minute, which took Wooster to a 1-0 lead at halftime.

From there, Krzys assisted on Wiley's second goal in the 48th minute before getting in on the action herself. In the 55th minute, Krzys struck for her first thanks to an assist from Naomi Mann.

Krzys then scored just eight minutes later as Wiley returned the favor with a double assist along with Katie Schumacher. For Krzys and Wiley, they both have seven goals on the year.

Hiram (2-11, 0-3 NCAC) got on the board in the 69th minute as Wooster was called for an unfortunate handball in the box which led to Ashley Dekam scoring on the penalty kick.

Hiram continued to push with another goal in the 85th minute as Emily Turk made a long pass to find Kaitlyn Harris in front of the net.

Wooster's Teddi Farson stopped the run in the 87th minute. Schumacher again was credited on the double assist, this time with help from first-year Zoe Peters.

Farson's goal kept her in the team lead on the season with eight.

First-year Amanda Flory collected the win in goal. She made three saves.

Wooster outshot the Terriers 39-11, including a 22-1 first half. Wooster also took nine corner kicks to Hiram's one.

Wooster moves to 6-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play. They will host Wittenberg University on Saturday.
