Scots Drop Pivotal NCAC Game Versus Ladies

Naomi Mann GAMBIER, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's soccer team lost to Kenyon College 1-0 on Wednesday in a battle between two teams tied in fourth place entering the day in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings.

It was a tale of two halves for the Scots who outshot the Ladies 10-4 in the first half but struggled to maintain that pace in the second half with just three shots in the final 45 minutes.

Kenyon grew to be the aggressor and was awarded a goal in the 71st minute behind the foot of Julia IgoeSamantha Hayes assisted on the play as Igoe scored from inside the box, scoring in the lower, right corner of the goal.

Wooster finished the game outshooting the Ladies 13-9. Amanda Flory made three saves in goal in the loss.

Wooster drops to .500 on the year at 7-7-1 overall. They are now 2-2-1 in the NCAC with just three games remaining.

Kenyon improves to 6-7-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.

Next, Wooster will square off on Saturday at Oberlin College, who entered Wednesday first in the NCAC standings.
