Scots Collect Win Number 10 Behind All-Around Performance

HIRAM – The College of Wooster women's soccer team surpassed the halfway mark of its North Coast Athletic Conference schedule with a dominating 4-0 win over Hiram College on Tuesday.

The Scots outshot the Terriers 27-5 as sophomore Kameryn Nelson and first year Lucy Carlin combined for the shutout. Nelson made two saves in 78 minutes while Carlin made one to close out the game in her second appearance.

In addition, four different Scots tallied a goal in the game.

It was 1-0 at halftime until the Scots sprung for three goals in the second half.

However, the game winner was the first when senior Grace Gascoigne scored off an assist from Bailey Farrell in the 13th minute. Gascoigne has now scored in back-to-back games for the second time this year, and it was her sixth goal of the year.

In the second half, the Scots pulled away early with goals in the 47th and 49th minute. The first saw sophomore Julia Struck score on a tough angle near the left post for her fourth of the year. The second goal saw lead passes from Naomi Mann and Gascoigne as senior Lindsey Moore scored her second goal this season.

Finally, junior Hallie Krzys scored her fifth of the year, scoring in the 65th minute.

The Scots also took 10 corners to Hiram's one, and neither team was carded in the game.

Wooster moves to 10-1-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the NCAC, while Hiram falls to 4-8-2 and 0-4 in conference games.

Wooster hosts Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday in its final regular season home contest of the fall.
