FRANKLIN, Ind. – The College of Wooster women's soccer team held a short-lived lead in the early goings of the second half, which ultimately led to a 1-1 tie at Franklin College on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Annie Henegar broke the scoreless drought just 52 seconds into the period. It was the first collegiate goal for the first year out of Doylestown.
Senior Hallie Krzys picked up her second assist in as many games, finding Henegar in front of the net while driving down the side.
Unfortunately, Wooster's lead lasted no more than three minutes as Franklin's Maddison Claybrooke scored in the 48th minute. After Franklin's initial corner attempt got knocked away, the Grizzles' Issy Pridemore sent a lob to the far post as Claybrooke connected on a header.
The opportunities were about even in the second half. Wooster outshot the Grizzlies 13-4, but that was after an 8-0 first half. Both teams took four corner kicks.
Wooster goalkeeper Amanda Flory made one save, while Franklin's Makenna Mundy collected five.
Wooster moves to 1-0-1 on the year, while Franklin moves to 0-1-1.
Next, the Scots will have their home opener on Wednesday when they take on Franciscan University of Steubenville.
