Annie Henegar showed off in The College of Wooster women's soccer team's home opener on Wednesday as the first-year netted a hat trick in the team's 4-1 win over Franciscan University of Steubenville.
It was the 19th three-goal performance in program history and the first since 2021. The first-year adds on to her season total and now leads the team with four goals.
Wooster collected all its goals in the first half, including its last with just a second remaining.
Henegar scored the first three and in her first, took advantage of a defensive miscue to score just 2:02 in the game.
Just 2:30 later, Henegar got some help from her sister Abby Henegar as Abby found Annie in front of the net for the Scots to go up 2-0.
Annie then got another opportunity in the 33rd minute as a handball in the box gave her a penalty kick opportunity, which she netted above and out of the keeper's reach
Wooster then got one more across as first-year Emeili Tarpy scored her first collegiate goal as time nearly ran out in the first half. Tarpy fought off a defender and scored from the right side of the box as the horn sounded right when the ball crossed the line.
Franciscan (0-3) got one back in the 57th minute, but that was all it could get back.
Wooster keeper Kameryn Nelson got the win, making three saves. Sophomore Lucy Carlin played the final 13:27 and made one save.
The Scots took 19 shots to Franciscan's eight and held the corner kick advantage 5-3.
Wooster stays unbeaten at 2-0-1. They travel to Grove City College on Saturday.
