The College of Wooster women's tennis team opened the 2011 season with an 8-1 loss to visiting Otterbein University on Wednesday afternoon at the Central Tennis & Fitness Club in Wooster, Ohio.

Lauren Grimanis, who led Wooster a season ago with nine wins in singles competition, was victorious at No. 5 singles 6-4, 6-4. Also in singles, Kelsey Jenkins played a competitive match at No. 2, but eventually dropped the match 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles action, Jenkins teamed with Ashley Stockwell in the No. 1 match, but the duo was topped 8-4, as were Boo Flynn and Margaret Trainor by the same score in the third doubles match.

The Scots won't be back in action until their annual spring break trip to South Carolina which begins March 13.
